My Boys!

My little G and nephew K!<3
I've been so blessed this holiday season, just nice to take a little break from photo shoots and editing! Now is the time I get to take those candid snap shots of MY family! yay! We are headed to Flagstaff and Williams, AZ for Polar Express with family and I can't wait to get some good shots in while up north!
I will have a few openings in Jan.2010 for shoots. My foot surgery will be later, end of Feb. after our Park City vacation! :) If you are on that waiting list already, no worries, be looking for an email from me for dates soon to confirm!
Otherwise if you are interested in setting up a photoshoot contact me HERE.
Hope you are all enjoying your family and loved ones.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Lots of Love,
S

Happy DANCE!!!
So I have this fab camera....vicious lens and my endless opportunities to LEARN. The learning part of it for me is using MANUAL mode on the lens and not letting the computer do the work for me aka keeping it in auto mode or auto focus....so I shoot in RAW+JPEG so I can manipulate the photos etc in photoshop. I also just starting using a lens I got a little bit ago which I love, (85mm manual focus only) its an AMAZING lens---soooo here's an example of my learning.....I have this BEAUTIFUL family, some of our best friends, family photo's and how cute are they--- but a bit of blur on just one little one, darn it!!! You see with the slightest bit of movement, talking or blink this could happen to yours or any ones picture...BLUR there you have it, a photographers worst enemy!! Ugh!
Also if you are using a manual lens it can be difficult to get the points in which to have your focus on while setting the portrait up making sure everyone is looking, smiles and doesn't more or breathe right? :) that should be easy especially a family with kids right? This has been my experience in my own family photos ---- "DON'T MOVE and I'll buy you whatever you want after we smile for this Christmas photo for granny and gramps right??" haha...Family portraits are such a work out, I know because I've been there! Now my kid (Bella) is trained for the timer so we just do our own pics and she thinks its a game when the light goes off!! ANYWAY-most people would think the center of the photo is where the focus should be....well not so, more like a 1/3 over in the picture is best....like in this photo keeping it with in the areas of the white sweater of little "M" and then finding the area where the contrast in the photo, like at the top of this photo near the rock.....have I confused you yet?! hehe and people think that photography is simple! :) Anyways. I had this great photo that needed a blur fix and I did it!!!! I had two pictures and in the same spot and transformed it to make it work! can you see me doing a happy dance?!
